UPDATE 13:19 July 28th
I have been watching the weather forecasts with considerable interest. The BBC Weather is showing a large shower passing over Mere now, which should have cleared by 4pm.
We will also be informed by the App “ Rain Today” which gives a live feed of a radar picture for the next hour.
I believe that the storm will pass in time for this evenings concert.
Below is a plan for how the weather will affect timings:
DRY WEATHER:
4.30pm Chantry Garden open
Jazz in the garden: from 5pm
To include a short break for the musicians
The Jazz will stop at 6:30 to allow the audience to pack away their picnics & move into the Church.
7.30-8.45pm classical concert in the Church
WET WEATHER
Ticket holders check the website on the day of the concert to see if this is in force! www.meremusic.org
4.30pm Chantry Garden open
5.30-6.30pm. Jazz in the Church
Interval
7-8.15pm. Classical concert in Church
The grass at the Chantry is short but will be wet. We have moved enough tables into the garden & they are currently stacked under shelter. We have also brought 50 chairs which are also being kept dry.
If you feel able bodied & have picnic chairs I advise you to bring them, but there is no need to bring tables.
We have been advised that face masks should be worn whilst in the Church especially whilst moving around.
We plan to zone the Church & ask everyone to be aware of which zone they are in so that in the event of contact tracing being necessary we can reduce the amount of inconvenience and avoid everyone having to isolate .
